My second iconic image
Cindy Sherman
My finished image
So this was my set up for my take on a Guy Bourdin shoot with a little twist.
I will be using a 550D with a 24mm lens, set up on a tripod with a remote shutter release, 2 elinchrom flash heads and an aperture of around f16 for everything to be in focus.

Photograph by Charles O’Rear
An iconic image that people will relate to, but with no people in and not actually recording an event.
"Bliss is the name of a photograph of a landscape in Napa County, California, east of Sonoma Valley. It contains rolling green hills and a blue sky with stratocumulus and cirrus clouds. The image is used as the default computer wallpaper for the “Luna” theme in Windows XP."

Real Heroes

I was also lucky enough to catch a fire training simulation, which is awesome to be part of, the heat is intense and your not allowed to get so close to the action.
Again the sequence is slightly out as the image at the bottom should really be first.

Real Heroes

From my morning at the airport
I'd been asked to go to the Fire Training Ground at Durham Tees Valley Airport to assess their water treatment process and associated drainage system, luckily I'd taken my camera and managed to capture some images of a plane training scenario.
You don't really get much time to think and just had to react, but I thought it would bee a good chance which also would coincide with our latest project.
The images are straight out of camera, so may be could be cropped or worked on slightly.
The image at the bottom is slightly out of sequence and should be second, but trying to sort it on the blog was just a little too frustrating.

Nan Goldin

Jees, talk about a mood changer. You couldn't really watch the documentary made by her about her life, whilst having a drink.
Fantastic how she has captured the last twenty odd years of peoples life and the way the film went in full circle, starting at the fair ground and ending there.
But a very depressing film, people questioning "why me?"

Time for a mood changer, bring myself back round. Bit of spongebob (ICON), no interspecies sex going on there.

Or a bit of scooby doo, those pesky clean livin kids.

Initial Ideas

So this was my initial idea, but after the first lecture I just felt it may have been done to death, but i still carried out a fair bit of research on the subject

Heroes'n Villans

May be the title should have been along the lines of iconic image.

This little blog is to do with why my title is misspelt, why I took the 'I' out of villain.
That is to do with my thought process on the self portrait aspect and removing myself, omitting 'I'
Although I will be in all the images it won't actually be me, people can still see the word says Villain.
Anywhos LoL - it all made sense to me, god knows what I was drinking at the time, I have post-its, A4 sheets, scraps of paper all over my sofa on an evening with all my ideas as they just pour out of my head. The next day trying to piece it all together is a fantastic experience.

Steve Pyke - Moonbug

My idea with the Bond theme was going to be brought together with my passion for the Rolleiflex. I must have seen the cover for Moonbug so many times and subconsciously brought the 2 together.
I was wanting to do it all on film and produce the image quite large in the darkroom.
Obviously bringing it all together in the darkroom is going to be a challange - but what a final image it would be, using all my skills from setting up the images in camera, lighting, exposure, processing etc.
Exciting project, but very time consuming and probably very ambitious.
